Seems like I just got back from FITC Hollywood days ago, and it’s already time for MAX! The truth is, the past two weeks since I returned from FITC have been hellacious. Anytime you go away, you tend to have a lot to catch up on when you get back. But this time, in addition to that our server went down. Not a good situation.
But that is all resolved now, and here I am in Las Vegas for Adobe MAX 2006! This is the inaugural year for Adobe to be hosting MAX. Up till now, it has been Macromedia. Still, most of the content focuses on the formerly-known-as-Macromedia products – Flash, Dreamweaver, ColdFusion, and Flex. A new kid on the block also included in Adobe LiveCycle and Mike Chambers will also be introducing an up and coming product code-named Apollo. It will be interesting to see as the years go on if MAX will always focus on web-development, or as the lines blur more between the Adobe/Macromedia product lines, will MAX eventually include most – if not all – of the Adobe products. As a designer/devloper – I think this would be wonderful! Logistically though, it may be difficult – it would have to be a two week long conference! Maybe a Spring MAX focussing on the creative tools, and a Fall MAX focusing on web-devlopment could be a solution.
There are a lot of great presentations being offered this year, and apparently, MAX 2006 has record breaking attendance – with over 2800 participants! I’m looking forward to the next days ahead and will keep you posted . . . live from MAX 2006!
