Variety recently conducted an online poll among several hundred location managers, unit production managers, cinematographers, directors and assistant directors asking them to rate their favorite locations according to visual appeal, incentives, film-office support, production resources, and ability to substitute for another location.

The results? New Mexico (ABQ and surrounding areas) was selected number three!

Albuquerque was recently named the 2nd best city to live by Kiplinger.com. Kiplinger’s 2009 Best Cities (http://www NULL.kiplinger NULL.com/magazine/archives/2009/07/best-cities-2009-where-the-jobs-are NULL.html) list focuses on places that have stable employment plus the talent to create new, well-paying positions on economy, lifestyle and jobs.

Today is LiveSTRONG Day! I am here in Washington, D.C. celebrating LiveSTRONG Day as one of the two representatives selected by the Lance Armstrong Foundation from the state of NM. Our goal is two-fold – to learn about advocacy, and then to use those skills to talk to my state representatives here in D.C. It’s a remarkable experience.
