May 25Richard Galvan, Technical Product Manager for Adobe Flash recently announced the latest Flash update – Flash 10.0.2. To update, either download the updater, or run the updater directly from Flash by opening Flash and going to the the Help menu and selecting Updates.
Adobe Strobe Media Framework: open industry media players
May 10This year at NAB, Adobe announced Strobe: a framework for building media players that extends the capabilities of the Adobe Flash Platform. The goal is to establish and ‘open industry’ standard for media players. As someone who develops video websites for a variety of clients, I’m really excited that Adobe is moving this direction.
Adobe: Web Video on Television
Apr 28This year at NAB (the annual National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas) Adobe’s chief executive, Shantanu Narayen announced plans to extend Flash to the television screen. TVs and set-top boxes that support the Flash format may be available as early as later this year.
Flash on the iPhone?
Feb 01It’s been a long time coming . . . and now it looks like it may become a reality.
Since the launch of the iPhone, I’ve been asking for Flash. Why? Because it just makes sense.
Think about it. Flash Player is the world’s most pervasive software platform. It is used by over 2 million professionals and reaching 99.0% of Internet-enabled desktops in mature markets as well as a wide range of devices. Flash is popping up everywhere – from mobile phones to consumer devices like the Chumby, iRiver, and Sony PSP.

Why am I so excited about this release? To sum it up – I think it is absolutely awesome!
I admit, when Adobe first acquired Macromedia, I had my doubts. We’re we going to loose the company I had grown to love – a company who listened to their end-users and built the tools they asked for? I am sure I wasn’t alone.

Today’s event marks the largest software release in the company’s 25-year history.
