Photoshop CS3 Mac OS X 10.5.3 file corruption workaround

Have you gotten bit by the Photoshop CS3 Mac OS X 10.5.3 file corruption bug?

You know the one where while working with your PSD file directly on the server, you save – and your file is history?

I know the one. I had it happen to me.

So, here is what I did as a work around. Don’t know if it will work for everyone, but it did for me!

- Open Photoshop (not the file that became corrupt).

- Go to File > Open > {browse to the file that became corrupt on your server}

- Click open.

Just like magic – it opens.

Now, would I save it this way again? No – probably not. Until the issue is resolved, use ‘Save As’ instead of Save when working with this file – or move it to your local desktop.
